A team of researchers claim that they have developed a new pill called “polypill” which can protect you against all heart disease and stroke. Researchers believe that this new pill is a complete solution for all cardiac problems. To prove their research, they start recruiting around 700 people across six countries for an initial trial of “polypill”.

A research team led by Anthony Rodgers at the University of Auckland could start the trial of “pollypill” next year. The main aim of this drug is to reduce the heart disease and stoke both in rich and poor countries. This drug is mixture of blood-thinning aspirin, a cholesterol-lowering statin, an ACE inhibitor and a thiazide to lower blood pressure.

Researchers also advocated the distribution of this pill almost to everyone above the age of 55 years. Instead, over-55s could be put on one of several different “polypills” containing varying doses of the drugs, depending on their health needs, according to them.
